We are an International Christian fellowship called to be a distinct people and not another form of Christianity. The HOGIC has been established to train and equip men and women of like faith to take the Gospel into the world to minister to all mankind and surpass denominational boundaries.
It is the sincere aim of this church to conduct the affairs of God in an orderly fashion; we aim to depict the fullness of God corporately as one body where there is no division, for Christ is not divided.
We are a living and spiritual organism destined through Christ to bring new life to those dead in spirit and restore joy and fulfillment to those with spiritual voids and emptiness.
The HOGIC Church is a connectional denomination. Each church is a part of the National Connection. The Apostles and Bishops of the connectional organization are elected for life by a majority vote of the International General Assembly, which meets every two years. Bishops are bound by the Constitution and Decree Bylaws of the church to retire upon the General assembly nearest their 75th birthday.
THE APOSTOLIC BOARD OF APOSTLES is the supreme and highest-ranking body of The House of God in Christ Church. It is comprised of the Apostles, as ex-officio presidents, according to the rank of election. It is the administrative body of our great church. The Apostolic Board of Apostles has an apostolic vision to carry out a message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF BISHOPS is responsible for establishing and executing policies for the national membership, as well as sustaining and perpetuating spiritual order within the church.
THE BOARD OF INCORPORATORS, also known as the national board of trustees, has supervision in trust of all national properties of the church and is vested with authority to act on behalf of the national church whenever necessary with the approval of the Chief Apostle.
THE JUDICIAL COUNCIL is the highest judicatory body of The House of God in Christ Church. It is the appellate court, elected by the Board of Apostles.
THE PRESIDING ELDERS are assistants in middle management whom the Bishops appoint to supervise the clergy and churches/ missions or ministries in a Presiding Elders District. The appointed Presiding Elders meet with the local churches that comprise the district every three months for a quarterly district assembly. Quarterly and annually, the Presiding Elder reports to the Diocesan Prelate and makes financial recommendations for pastoral appointments and other district church business.
PASTORS receive a yearly appointment to a church on the recommendation of the District Elder and the approval and final appointment of the Bishop. The Pastor is in full charge of the local church and is the ex-official member of all boards and auxiliaries of that church.
The Mission of The HOGIC church is to be a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to develop full Christian maturity through exalting the Savior in worship, equipping the saints in discipleship, evangelizing to the sinner through witness and elevating all societies through missions and the Ministry of true reconciliation.
The vision of The HOGIC is to be a "soul-winning and progressive" church that programs to equip its disciples with sincere passion and a message of deliverance to WIN for Christ. We aim to promote multiple programs and ministries that will bring assistance and healing to personal lives, the family structure, and in relationships. We seek to IMPACT our area of Ministry through authentic and attractive worship, recreation, music, a missions thrust both at home and abroad, and through providing a needed social action role for our community when the need and God's endorsement are clear. Our TARGET is to minister to the "TOTAL Man" who bears the concerns of their children, parents, and grandparents. The Ministry towards strengthening those will, as a result, strengthen our church and be a blessing to society while the Kingdom progressively expands.
